Location. Located directly on the beach at beautiful Simpson Bay, the Sunterra Royal Palm Beach Resort overlooks the crystalline splendor of the Caribbean in St. Maarten. Divided between the Netherlands and France, the island is the smallest territory in the world shared by two sovereign states. The resort is less than 8 kilometers from both the Dutch and French capitols, Phillipsburg and Marigot respectively.
Features. The resort features a fitness center and an outdoor pool with a swim-up bar and drink service. The water-sports center rents equipment and offers activities such as kayaking, parasailing, scuba diving, fishing and motor boating. The resort's retail arcade includes a beauty salon offering massage, a grocery store and an Internet center with several computers. The staff can assist with tour planning, dry cleaning, wedding, concierge and business services. The Cabana Beach Bar and Restaurant is a casual, open-air establishment serving specialties such as conch chowder, curried chicken, roast duck and grilled lobster. The restaurant hosts a barbeque buffet with live entertainment on Wednesday evenings, and a complimentary rum-punch party is held on Mondays.

Guestrooms. Each of the two-bedroom, two-bathroom guest suites feature furnished balconies and full kitchens with ranges, refrigerators, microwave ovens and breakfast bars. Expert Tip. The Loterie Farm, 12.5 kilometers (8 miles) from the resort, features the FlyZone. Visitors wear harnesses attached to steel cables to glide through the forest canopy and negotiate obstacles.
