Public telephones use magnetic cards ( telekarta ), which come in denominations of 12kn, 23kn, 37kn and 67kn; you can buy these from post offices or newspaper kiosks. When making long-distance and international calls, it's usually easier to go to the post office, where you're assigned a cabin and given the bill afterwards.
Zagreb is the only place where Internet access has really caught on, although you should be able to find at least one place in most towns; expect to pay around 15kn per hour online. -- location id = 34240 -->
