Location. The historic Grosvenor House Hotel is located on Park Lane in central London, England. Opposite leafy Hyde Park, it is four blocks from Marble Arch Underground station. Oxford Street, the United Kingdom's biggest shopping street, is five blocks from the hotel, and Bond Street's designer shops are seven blocks away. Buckingham Palace and the West End theatres are half a mile away.
Hotel Features. Built on the site of the first Earl of Grosvenor's home, this 1920s landmark was originally opened for the first trans-Atlantic cruise passengers. The lobby features original artwork, antiques and a sandstone floor. The hotel has a walnut- panelled library lounge with Persian rugs, and a celebrated ballroom.
The Park Room in The Grosvenor House Hotel is a brasserie-style dining and lounge area. The formal restaurant's large windows overlook Hyde Park. Comfortable armchairs and sofas are dotted about the lounge area, and the library has a grand piano. The Art Deco Terrazza Bar and Restaurant is set over two floors. The Red Bar, with its lacquered walls, colourful Asian tapestry and leather banquettes, evokes the 1930s.
The hotel has conference rooms for up to 1,500 people and wireless Internet access (surcharge) throughout.
The hotel has a hydrotherapy spa with yoga and Pilates classes, massages and beauty treatments. There is a well-equipped fitness centre.
Guestrooms. The Grosvenor House Hotel's 446 climate-controlled rooms are decorated in neutral tones with period-style furniture in mahogany, cherry and walnut. All rooms offer high-speed Internet connections and satellite television. Marble-and-granite bathrooms have telephones.
Expert Tip. Rowing boats can be hired on Hyde Park's Serpentine Lake, built in 1730.

Distance to The Grosvenor House Hotel is 18 miles, approximately 50 minutes' drive.
Getting there. The Heathrow Express train is the quickest way into London. It departs from the airport every 15 minutes, and takes 15 minutes to reach Paddington Station in central London. The journey is non-stop and costs 14.50 GBP. Paddington is on the Hammersmith and City, District and Circle, and Bakerloo lines of London's Underground (Tube). Additionally, the airport is on the Piccadilly line of the Underground, which runs directly to Kings Cross, Leicester Square, Knightsbridge, and Green Park underground stations. The journey to central London takes approximately one hour, and trains depart every 10 minutes. A one-day travel pass costs 6.30 GBP, including travel to Heathrow (in zone 6). Black taxis cost approximately 50 GBP to central London. Coaches operate to London Victoria and the rest of the UK, and the airport is also served by local buses. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Marble Arch Underground station is four blocks from The Grosvenor House Hotel. The London Underground (Tube) and buses are the easiest ways to travel within London. Single tickets are expensive, but an electronic Oyster card offers a cheaper fare. Oyster cards can be purchased from ticket offices for 3 GBP (refundable). Daily or weekly travel passes are the most economical way to travel, and are valid on buses, trams, trains, and DLR, as well as on the Underground. Black taxis are available on the streets, but can be expensive. Driving is not recommended for visitors and a congestion charge zone is operated in central London. Valet parking is available onsite (surcharge).
