The Mercer Hotel is a modern, red-brick corner building in a central location, just 500 metres from Dublin Castle and 250 from Grafton Street's shops and restaurants. The hotel's 41 guestrooms, over three floors, feature traditional decor and furnishings with Flora Mitchell prints. All offer air conditioning, cable television with premium channels, CD players, coffee/tea makers, direct- dial phones, refrigerators and trouser presses. Bathrooms have shower/tub combinations, hair dryers and makeup mirrors.
The hotel's contemporary bistro, Cusacks, has a twist of traditional charm and offers à la carte menus at lunchtimes and evenings, with a gourmet sandwich selection throughout the day. Guests can relax in the bar with a pint or two of the black stuff, and order snacks and drinks from the room service menu. Business guests can use meeting rooms for conferences and private dining for up to 100 guests, while practical amenities include a 24-hour front desk, air-conditioned public areas and free onsite parking. The hotel is well placed to explore historic Dublin city centre; the Gaiety Theatre is 100 metres away, and the National Gallery of Ireland is 750 metres away. The hotel is located 13 kilometres from Dublin International Airport, a 25-minute drive.

Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver and cost approximately 10 EUR (return). Dublin's extensive bus network (green double-deckers) serves the centre and the suburbs. Taxis are expensive and can be hard to come by. Parking is scarce, but a car is a great way to get off the beaten track. The centre of Dublin is best explored on foot.
