Location.  Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul is a contemporary, high-rise hotel located on the European side of the Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey. The 19th- century Dolmabahce Palace, where Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey, lived in his later years, is one kilometre from the waterside hotel. The Old City, home to Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia and the Grand Bazaar, is eight kilometres away. The Taksim Metro stop is within a kilometre.
Hotel Features.  Occupying a wooded hilltop in 65 acres of gardens that were once part of Dolmabahce Palace, Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul consists of three towers.

The hotel has six restaurants, and outdoor dining is available with Bosphorus views. Café Suisse offers European fare. There's French cuisine with live music in La Corne d'Or, and Ku-Kong serves Chinese dishes for dinner. Miyako is a Japanese restaurant open for lunch and dinner, and Swiss Chalet offers Switzerland's culinary classics such as fondue and raclette. The historic Taslyk Turkish Restaurant was once a Turkish coffee house and prepares authentic local dishes.

The hotel has a business centre, and meeting space. There are swimming pools for kids and adults, as well as a fitness centre, hair salon and spa services (surcharge).

Guestrooms.  Many of the 600 air- conditioned guestrooms have views over the Bosphorus strait and Turkey's Asiatic coast. All rooms feature dial-up Internet connections, minibars and satellite television.

Driving Directions - Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul

From Istanbul Ataturk Airport (IST):
Distance to the Istanbul Hilton hotel is 25 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.

Getting there.  Both airport terminals are connected to the metro system, which runs to the city centre. Single tickets cost about 1 TRY. The Havas Airport bus departs every 30 minutes for the main bus terminal and Taksim Square, in central Istanbul. Journey time is about 30 minutes. Bus number 96 runs between the airport and the city centre, and a shuttle bus runs to the port. Taxis wait outside Arrivals; fixed prices are in place and the fare to the city centre should be about 20 TRY-30 TRY. At night, there is a 50 percent surcharge. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around.  Istanbul's extensive public transport system includes buses, metros (underground trains), trains, trams, sea buses, and ferries. Tickets can be purchased from main stops, stations, or kiosks prior to boarding. Istanbul's yellow taxis are reasonably priced, but travellers should ensure the meter is used. A cheaper alternative is to use a 'dolmus' (minibus or shared taxi). Driving is not advised for visitors.

Take Highway E5 east.
At Besiktas turn right.
Drive to end of Barbaros Boulevard.
Turn right.
The hotel is one kilometre on the right.
