Getting there.  Anemon Izmir Hotel offers complimentary transportation to and from the airport. Alternatively, a Havas bus runs from the airport into the centre of Izmir. The bus leaves every 30 minutes from the airport. Journey time is about 30 minutes and tickets cost 2.60 USD. A train operates every hour between the airport and Alsancak Gari, to the north of the city centre. Cost is .50 USD. Taxis are available in front of the airport and cost between 20 USD-30 USD. Prices go up after midnight. Be sure to bargain for the best price.

Getting around.  Izmir is compact and easily negotiated on foot. The main mode of public transportation is the red municispal buses. Visitors can purchase city cards for credit to use on the buses from bus ticket offices or at shops. A limited metro system is in operation. Shared minibuses (dolmus) are available to exploring the city centre or venturing further afield. Taxis are available on the streets and are generally reasonably priced, however, the fare should be negotiated before departure.
