Location. The Monticello Inn in San Francisco, Calif., was architecturally inspired by Thomas Jefferson's Virginia home. This California boutique hotel occupies a 1906 building located two blocks from Union Square and one-half mile from the Moscone Convention Center. The Powell Street Cable Car Line runs one block from the hotel, and ACT and Curran theaters are just two blocks away. Three blocks away, a local TIX booth sells half-price day-of-performance tickets to theatrical performances.
