Location. Designed for snowboarders by snowboarders, The Block is the world's first hotel to successfully represent the interests of this intricate sub-culture in the context of contemporary mountain lodging. The hotel is a tribute to snowboarding pioneer Marc Frank Montoya and Las Vegas hotelier Liko S. Smith. The Block is less than two blocks from both the Heavenly Resort's gondola base and Harrah's and Harvey's casinos. A private lakeside beach is two blocks away.
Hotel Features. With vaulted ceilings, eight-foot windows and original works of art, the Internet cafe at The Block features lounge furniture, computer work-stations and a television. The hotel offers rare perks including VIP treatment at the high-energy Blu nightclub inside MontBleu and access to an extensive library of DVDs and CDs. The hotel includes a rooftop spa tub.

Guestrooms. "Old School" Guestrooms at this smoke-free hotel provide wireless Internet access and cable television. "New School" rooms feature snowboard racks, boot dryers/glove warmers, down comforters, wireless Internet access and video game consoles. The Block also features signature guestrooms such as "Zoo York" and "Napster," tributes to snowboarders and professionally assembled in themes.
