Tidewater Golf Club & Plantation

Location. The Tidewater Golf Club & Plantation is located on an elevated peninsula between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Cherry Grove Inlet in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. The resort is approximately two miles from the beach and six miles from the Alabama Theater and Barefoot Landing in downtown Myrtle Beach.
Features. Stately southern architecture mingles with extensive waterways at the Tidewater Golf Club & Plantation. Oak and pine trees complement this gated community, where deer roam freely throughout the grounds. The resort features a world-class golf course, which offers Bermuda-grass greens and views of the inlets, saltwater marshes and the Atlantic Ocean. A casual steak and seafood restaurant is located in the golf course clubhouse. Internet access is available in public areas for a fee. The resort offers illuminated Hydro-Court tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools with shallow ends for children, a health club, and racquetball and basketball courts.

Guestrooms. Two- and three-bedroom villas offer full kitchens with refrigerators, microwave ovens and dishwashers. Screened-in porches offer golf course or lake views. Cable television, DVD players and complimentary Internet access are included. Washers and dryers are also provided.

Expert Tip. Shag dancing, which originated in Myrtle Beach in the 1940s and 1950s, is still popular in the Ocean Drive area at venues such as the Boulevard Grill, Duck's, Fat Harold's Beach Club, H's-N-OD, the OD Arcade, the OD Beach Club Grill and Pirate's Cove within 12 miles from the property.
